Fugato : Aki Yamamoto

Apr. 8 (Tue) - May 4 (Sun), 2009

In this April, Art Front Graphics will introduce works by Aki Yamaomoto.
In our memory, we have various sceneries of what we saw and encountered. However, many are not clear enough without concrete shape and colors. When we try to remember them, the shape and colors overlap, and it is somehow close to our memory of what we see in dreams. When we see Aki Yamaoto's work, we may feel the similarlity of those seneries in our mind. Space are being cut out or sometimes filled in by her colors, and they overlap, and cross with each other. The overlaps of her forms her works in past tended to show clarity and transparency, but recently they are becoming to form a definite shape. The artist is recently interested in shadows. The seen objects form certain shapes and at the same time they melt within certain shapes of shadows. The objects which do exist and those which are merely shadows overlap and meet on the canvas. And above all, the artist's activity to conbine all she saw on one picture plane is like playing a puzzle with viewers.
