Exhibition
Tokuro Sakamoto / Beautiful Drifter
July 1st (Wed) - August 3rd (Sun) 2008
Art Front Graphics will be showcasing the work of Tokuro Sakamoto in an exhibition titled, "Beautiful Drifter".
Common sceneries from our common lifes, such as pedestrian crossing, road signs, and apartments. No traces of people's activity and nothing special and too ordinary. This emptiness may be one of the characteristic of Tokuro Sakamoto's work which makes each work hard to forget. The experience to view the works may be like tracing back to our memory of what we have seen in the past. Or it may be finding and experiencing completely new impression by reviewing the ordinary scenes in the works. By viewing and experiencing the strangeness or faraway-ness in ordinary sceneries in these works, one is able to find the artist's definite vision to grasp an atmosphere behind the scenery, and that vision should definitely based on the artist's deep comprehension on the our contemporary life.
