Junji Sakai / Shape of the Moon

A canvas is devided by grids and plus shape (+) are placed in each grid. Although the patters are similar, the delicate placement and difinition of colors totlay chages the impression of each work. In this exhibition, walls and floor space are being used for the exhibition, and you will be able to see the works chaging our gallery space.

Shape of the Moon

The artist is making works for the wall and wooden cubes.
Recently he has been working on arger works with simpler patterns, such as stripes.
The title, "Shape of the Moon" means that the impression of same the moon diifers accoroding to the weather. Like the moon, the work totally looks different when the colors and viewers' standpoints are different.

Viewers are able to touch and move the cubes in the exhibition.
It is interesting to see how the cubes will be placed in the end of the exhibition.

The artist also designed the wrapping paper and the sealing.
The design is based on the artist's drawing for the exhibition.
