Asako Tokitsu "Out of Space : Berlin - Tokyo 2009"

Artfront graphics will be showcasting the work of Asako Tokitsu in an exhibition titled, "Out of Space : Berlin - Tokyo 2009".
Creative ground of Tokitsu is not limited to the museums and the galleries, but it is extended to any kind of buildings including AKARENGA warehouse in Yokohama, schools, public facilities and residences. She has established the style of drawing by "line"in recent years, and developped her expression variously, including mounted drawings, lines on the walls, and sometimes the lines on the murals. She draws the lines by inspiration from each space, and the lines strike out space and time. The lines which are given berth by her create vital world and it become a round dance and gives a new perspective.
Once the Viewers enter organic perceptive space created by her, they are recalled their physical perception as they move and appreciate it. As if she revolt against present-day life that everything go digital, she seems to strain for physical perception. Then when the viewers see the "lines" as an artwork in the fresh, they interact with it unconsciously as they see the trace of her life had certainly passed there.
