Sawa has special connection with Okunoto where his grandfather and father lived once. In this beloved area, the artist developed a large-scale installation in a community house.
He used video and drawings and represented the anecdote of his grandfather. When he got ill, they transported ice from Kanazawa to Suzu via sea. Drawings of lighthouse or old ships as well as ice-made-instruments are filling the space leading the visitors to the last room of video on his personal history. The artist states that the viewpoint from the sea will change the visitor’s perspective itself.”
