We are pleased to announce the artist Su-Mei Tse will hold a solo exhibition at Art Front Gallery this October. She is also attending Setouchi Triennale, and is planning a new work for Honjima, one of the islands in Setouchi.

Since winning the Golden Lion at the 2003 Venice Biennale for her Luxemburg Pavilion, Su-Mei has participated in many solo and group exhibitions around the world. A cellist born to a British pianist mother and a Chinese violinist father, Su-Mei is known for artworks that explore the themes of music, sound, Western and Eastern cultures and identity.

In Japan, recent publicity was the collection exhibition of Yageo Foundation and the solo exhibition at Contemporary Art Gallery, Art Tower Mito in 2009 was the biggest opportunity.

We invited Su-Mei to Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale in 2006, so it will be a decade since then for us to work with her this year.

We would like to introduce part of the process of her project for Setouchi and her solo exhibition time to time on our web site.
