Opened on April 15, 1995. Acquired a hydroelectric power station, which was constructed in 1925 and intended to demolish, from the Hokuriku Electric Company and rebuilt an art museum. This museum aims to display the art of electricity and newly created energy of the local culture. Rebuilt to maintain as many traces of the power stations as possible, a red brick building in the elevated style of the Taisho era, a display area with a left over power generator, turbine, and an aqueduct to create a special atmosphere to stir our artistic imagination.
