The source of Nishizawa’s interest is a new way of receiving objects and events common to everyday life. They are mainly expressed by visualizing the social attitude toward beauty through her research. Nishizawa seems to understand that the modern cosmetics and plastic surgeries are essentially different, knowing the ambiguity of the boundary between them. Thus, she visually presents the world in which beauty devices and medical devices are fused or replaced, to indicate this fluctuating relationship. As the birth of plastic surgery extended each original area beyond the application to the beauty of medicine, the artworks of upcoming exhibition expands the aesthetic concepts according to our sense of deception through the parallelism or exchanging emphasis of existing images. This will cut a new opening and make the window to the new way of perceiving the world.
