Current exhibit “Paintings of Electrical Wire” at Nerima Art Museum, Tokyo features the artworks depicting electrical wire and utility poles. Yosuke Katou, curator of this show, has long fostered this unique idea based on the landscape paintings where these utilities coexist with the main Mt. Fuji. He also follow the landscape with electrical wire today, to present Tokuro Sakamoto and Ayako Kuno. Sakamoto concentrates on the pure representation of the wires in the sky. Kuno has created an installation of “skytree” symbolizes proliferating elements of newly appearing city, which synchronizes the increase of electric wire. Please visit the exhibit collecting about 150 artworks through April 18.
