Kawamata tried to create “Hashi construction” using about 24,000 disposable chopsticks. By using materials familiar to Japanese people, he created installation arts on the entrance windows of SHISEIDO THE STORE, connecting the entrance (public place) to the inside (private place).

Regarding the work, Kawamata commented that “The installation of countless piece of wood pieces induces communication as a foreign presence at a familiar scenery of Ginza. Moreover, it promotes the emergence of new possibilities while being in the relationship with the variety of forms and changes of the city, and also encompassing the culture and history of the city, as well as the spirit of people's memory.
